About the organization

FIDAE is a federation of 1700 Primary and Secondary Catholic Schools, promoted by the "Congregation for Catholic Education, the School and the University" of the Vatican and recognized by the "Italian Episcopal Commission". It is based in Rome.

Fidae represents and defends the interests of its members in all ecclesiastical and secular, institutional and professional, national and international offices. It operates through the free volunteering of its executives, elected according to statutory rules at national or regional assemblies.

FIDAE was founded in Rome in 1945; in accordance with the purposes codified in his statute, over the last decades, has engaged in a wide variety of problems affecting young people, education and school, obtaining prestigious awards from high ecclesiastical and civil authorities. Among them a gold medal (1985) by the President of the Italian Republic.

In the ecclesial world, it was the first association to deal with the Catholic school.
